Education & Credentials

Dr. Stauffer is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and specialized in couples, marriage, and family counseling during his graduate work at Portland State University. He completed his doctoral work in the Counseling program at Oregon State University.

Mark has worked with individuals, couples and families in Portland, Oregon for over a decade helping them make it through the difficult times and transitions. He is also an adjunct instructor at Oregon State University and Portland Community College. Some of the courses he teaches at the community college include stress managment, assertiveness, decision making and confidence building.

Mark has practiced meditation and mindfulness for 15 years and shares this training and experience with clients and other counselors.

He has co-authored three books on counseling: Introduction to Group Work (2006); Career Counseling: Foundations, Perspectives, and Applications (2006) and Foundations of Addictions Counseling (2008).
